How much is it to rent a bike in LBI?
Bicycle rentals are available at rates of $10 an hour, $20 a day and $50 a week at Walters Bicycles. While a lot of people on the Island would recommend riding spots such as the Beach Avenue route along the water, Walters said riders can find a quiet, scenic route in Barnegat Light’s parks.
Do you need a license to drive a moped on Block Island?
The new law allows drivers to operate certain mopeds and scooters without a motorcycle license. Riders who rent scooters on Block Island are not required to have a motorcycle license. The Town of New Shoreham did not intervene during the passage of the law.
Can you bike all of Block Island?
There’s no better way to see the sights of Block Island than by biking. And we’ve laid out the perfect route — a 7.5 mile loop that includes nine stops along major sights at the southern end of the island, plus an option to add 8.5 miles that wind through some of Block Island’s most beautiful landscapes.

Motorcycles and mopeds can be transported on the Traditional Ferry only. We do not accept advanced reservations, space is available on a first come first serve basis.

Helmets are highly recommended for all customers and Rhode Island State law states helmets are mandatory for all children under the age of 16 years old. Pregnant woman are not allowed on bicycles. It’s for your own safety and comfort.
Can you bring your own scooter to Block Island?
Let’s go! Moving forward, motorized bikes, mopeds and scooters can only be rented or operated between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. No passengers will be allowed to sit in front of any driver. Passengers must have their own rear seat, foot rests, and handlebar grips.
